Ohio Endorsement Bomb

This week several South Carolina State Representatives have endorsed Ron Paul.  They spoke about how so many of their constituents had contacted them asking for an endorsement of Dr. Paul.

All Ohio Ron Paul supporters are encouraged to contact their state representatives and tell them why they should endorse Dr. Paul.  Phone calls often work best, but emails and online contact can also work.

Look up your State House Representatives here.

Look up you State Senate Representative here.

Also any notable person is a good candidate for an endorsement.  An actor, singer, athlete, newscaster, etc.  These endorsements can help generate publicity and awareness.  If you have any ideas or leads then go for it.  Ask them to make a public statement.

Call South Carolina Today

A Message from Ron Paul.

Voting begins tomorrow morning in South Carolina at 7:00 a.m.

And the latest polls show I have a real shot at a very strong finish.

But I need your help during this critical time.

Can I count on you to make calls into South Carolina today?

And using our state-of-the-art Phone From Home Program, contacting voters has never been so easy.

All you have to do is call likely Republican voters in South Carolina to find out who they’re supporting, and what issue they care most about.

Best of all, you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home to help!

But South Carolina is going to come down to these last few hours.

So please, help my campaign contact as many voters as possible today using our Phone From Home Program.

Together, you and I can Restore America NOW!

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S.  Elections are a numbers game.

So if I’m going to have a strong showing in South Carolina, we must make sure we contact as many voters as possible before the polls open tomorrow.

That’s why I’m counting on you to use our Phone From Home Program to help contact likely Republican voters in South Carolina

Register to Vote by Feb 6!

To vote in the March 6 Ohio primary you must be registered to vote by Feb 6. At the link below you can download a PDF voter registration form. To register to vote, fill out the form and mail to you county board of elections. Full details and registration forms here.

A lot of Ron Paul support is coming from new and young voters, so registering these people to vote should be a big help Dr. Paul in Ohio. There are some key points to tell people.

  1. You must register to vote by Feb 6 to vote in the primary. DO NOT delay to register now if you are not already a registered voter!
  2. You do not need to be registered with any particular party to vote for Ron Paul. When you go to vote in the primary March 6, you just need to ask for a Republican ballot.  Anyone regardless of their party affiliation can do this as long as they are registered to vote.
  3. College students can register to vote in the precinct in which their college residence is located. There is no need to go back home to vote, but if you want to vote based on your college residence you need to register to vote with that address.
  4. There is no point in voting in the Democrat primary. Obama is running unopposed. If you want change, vote in the Republican party for Ron Pau and you can actually have an impact!

Calling All Campus Groups!

All Ron Paul student groups, you can have a big impact by doing registration drives on campus for Ron Paul. You can have people fill out the registration cards and even mail them in for them. Make sure they understand where, when, and how to vote.  A handout explaining the how to vote for Ron Paul points above would be very helpful. If you can have them sign up for your group mailing list. You can be even more effective by reminding all the people who you register to vote to get out and vote on election day!

What the Heck Just Happened?

A few weeks ago an urgent call went out to collect signatures to get delegates for Ron Paul.  The decision to do this was a precaution because with the redistricting go on in Ohio, the true filing deadlines were not necessarily known.  However this week the chaos was finally settled and the Ohio legislature passed a bill finalizing Ohio’s new districts and primary date.  The presidential primary will be held March 6, and  the filing deadline for is Dec 30th for candidates.  All the previous paperwork filed is null and void with the new deadline.  The good news is however no signatures are going to be required for the new deadline.

With this change there is an opportunity for additional people to become Ron Paul delegates.  Delegates are responsible for attending the GOP National Convention in Florida in August if Ron Paul wins delegates in Ohio.  There they can cast their vote for Ron Paul to be the GOP’s presidential candidate.

There is a requirement to have a mixture of male and female delegates.  At this point female delegates are needed.  If you are interested please send your name and phone number to me.  I will help collect the information to forward to the campaign.  jb4ronpaul@gmail.com.

Cleveland Ron Paul for President Billboard

The Cleveland Ron Paul Meetup has been working on getting a Ron Paul for President billboard set up in the Cleveland area.  Because this is an expenditure for a political candidate the donations will be tracked through the new Ohio Revolution political advocacy organization to keep the process legal.  If you would like to financially support the effort please use this donation link.  All the money donated at this link will go directly towards funding the billboard.  Please note because the expense is related to a political campaign federal law requires collecting the necessary information for reporting like address, employer, and occupation.  Congratulations to the Cleveland group for putting together this great grassroots project!

Procedure to Turn in Petition Signatures

UPDATE – The delegate process is completed in Ohio.  Ron Paul turned in all necessary delegates.

The petitions will need to be turned in to the board of elections of the largest county in your district by the deadline.  The deadline to turn in petition signatures is 4:00 pm December 7th.  The goal is to have the delegate of each district turn in all the signatures for that district.

Again, the delegate for each district will be responsible for turning in the signatures to the BOE by the deadline. If you have gathered signatures this weekend, the best thing to do is to contact your district delegate and either mail the petitions to the delegate or deliver them.  Since the delegate needs to turn them in to the BOE Wednesday, you should contact your delegate and coordinate to deliver the petitions ASAP. If you plan to mail them to the delegate, you probably need to do that early on Monday for them to reach in time.

ALSO, before turning in, be sure to fill out the circulator statement at the end of the petition.  This includes your name, number of signatures on the petition, signature, and address.  If you don’t do this the petition is invalid.

Below is a list which counties are the largest in each district so you know where the petitions eventually need to end up.

  • District 1 – Hamilton County BOE
  • District 2 – Hamilton County BOE
  • District 3 – Franklin County BOE
  • District 4 – Allen County BOE
  • District 5 – Lucas County BOE
  • District 6 – Columbiana County BOE
  • District 7 – Stark County BOE
  • District 8 – Butler County BOE
  • District 9 – Cuyahoga County BOE
  • District 10 – Montgomery County BOE
  • District 11 – Cuyahoga County BOE
  • District 12 – Franklin County BOE
  • District 13 – Summit County BOE
  • District 14 – Lake County BOE
  • District 15 – Franklin County BOE
  • District 16 – Cuyahohga County BOE

There is a lot of confusion and chaos over this process because of the state of the redistricting in Ohio.  Thanks for your patience and help with trying to get this done.  If you are having trouble call me and I will try to help out.

Paul Supporters Urgently Needed for Delegate Petition Signatures

UPDATE – The delegate process is completed in Ohio.  Ron Paul turned in all necessary delegates.

Paul supporters who are registered Republicans are urgently needed to help secure Ron Paul on the ballot in Ohio for the 2012 primary election.  With the confusion around the redistricting and primary date in Ohio, there is a possibility that petitions need to be filed with the Ohio Secretary of State by next Wed, Dec 7th.  The campaign has decided the best course of action is to get the signatures for 1 delegate in each of the new 16 Ohio congressional district.  Delegates are needed to actually vote for Ron Paul at the Republican National Convention.  If you are a registered Republican and you can help gather signatures ASAP,  you are urgently needed this weekend.  Here is what you can do.

First understand what district you are in according to the new district map. Here is a map of the state:

http://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/index.ssf/2011/09/ohios_new_congressional_distri.html

Here is a set of maps for each new congressional district:

http://ohioforronpaul.com/districts/

For the district in which you will gather signatures, print out the delegate petition for that district.  Each of the petitions for each delegate in each new districts are here:

http://ohioforronpaul.com/delegates/

A minimum of 50 valid signatures from either registered Republicans or Independents are required for each Delegate/Congressional District.  Remember, not only do the voters signing the petition need to be registered Republicans or independents, they also must live in the district for which that petition is for!  So for example, If you live in the new district 3, this is what you need to do.

  1. Make sure you are a registered Republican with the state of Ohio.
  2. Print out the PDF file that has CD_3 in the name.
  3. Get registered Republicans and Independents to sign the petition who live in the new congressional district 3.   Get as many as you can!
  4. Await further instructions on who to turn the petitions in to and when here or on the facebook site http://www.facebook.com/RP2012OH.   I am not sure how the gathering and turn in process will go right now.

How do you know if someone is a registered Republican or Independent?  You can of course ask people and hopefully they know.  Also the secretary of state provides a list of all registered voters here:

http://www2.sos.state.oh.us/pls/voter/f?p=111:1:30421728661129

You can download the voter file for a county and validate that the person is registered and is Republican or nothing.  If you need help with this I can also send you a list of registered republicans and independents on a particular street if you send me the county and street name.

If you have questions or need help my contact info is here.  If you can get signatures it would be great if you can let me know.

Now Is The Time

In the midst of the many problems our country faces, we should reflect on the fact that in front of us is a unique opportunity very few generations in history have been given.  We have the chance to truly change the direction of our country for the better, and to even change the course of history.

Just a few years  ago it was unthinkable that such an opportunity would exist.  But with the incredible hard work and dedication of thousands, Ron Paul’s support has been steadily growing.  Little by little, more and more people understand the importance of freedom and adherence to the Constitution as a solution to the problems we face.   But even more important is the fact that Ron Paul’s support is rapidly advancing in crucial early voting states.  Now, even the press has been forced to admit the fact that Ron Paul is becoming a “front runner”.

With the growth and organization we have, I believe this election is now ours to lose, especially in Iowa.  If Ron Paul loses,  I believe it is only because we did not do what we ought to have done when we ought to have done it.

Are you a Ron Paul supporter?  Do you believe in defending truth and liberty with everything you have got?  If you have not already done so, now is the time to take your support to the next level and get involved with the voter phone calling program.

The first primary vote is now just a few short weeks away, not much time at all.  Over the next few weeks, one of the most important things for Ohio liberty lovers to do than call, call, and call.  The last vestiges of our constitution and the founding vision of this country still remain at our disposal, and we need to take advantage of that to the fullest extent that we can.  We truly have an opportunity to execute a peaceful revolution through the existing political channels.  Your best weapon is your telephone.  The voter phone calling system is a proven election winning strategy, but it will only work if the FULL grassroots power is behind it.  With every single Ron Paul supporter involved right now, we can do this.

Here is some key information to get you started:

Phone from home website - http://phone.ronpaul2012.com

Instructions to get started - http://phone.ronpaul2012.com/v/faq.php

Video introduction/walk through – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYzku2ZIWLA

Facebook groups – share important information, ask questions.

What is the purpose of phone.ronpaul2012.com/?

The first couple of weeks: Will be collecting data. After data is collected we will use it to benefit the campaign.By having specific information about voters and what is important to them, local campaign coordinators can be more effective in getting benefit the campaign.  We are connecting with voters from Iowa, NH, NV, and SC. The objective is to collect data now and then influence voters at a later time.

The script is basically what candidate are you planning on voting for and which 2 issues are most important to you. DO NOT TRY TO CONVERT ANYONE! JUST READ THE SCRIPT AND HELP THEM TAKE THE POLL, it’s easy!

Some tips to help you maximize efficiency:

1) Ask the first question immediately. Do not say anything else before then (Example: Do not ask something like, “Would you like to answer a few questions?” Posing this question gives a person a way out of the conversation.

2) Smile when asking a question. This changes the tone of your voice and makes you seem more friendly and approachable.

3) Ask questions with a raising tone in your voice. Utilize question tonality when asking questions (purpose: makes it more likely a person will want to answer the question).

4) Make the question multiple choice by giving the options to the person, this gives the person an easy way to choose.  Do not linger on the phone. Run through the list quickly so the poll is not taxing to the person who is answering the question.

When is the best time to make calls?

ANYTIME…well, almost…is the best time to make calls but for a greater survey ratio, try to make calls during non-working hours in the time-zone you’re calling.  Out of respect of our future Ron Paul supporters on the other line,

The system will not let us call outside acceptable times

I tried to register but nothing seems to happen/not working?

Be patient and try again later.  The immediate success of the program and explosion of use has caught the system/servers off guard and causing some minor temporary glitches.  There are many calls to be made and many more callers are needed to do so, our systems will catch up to your enthusiasm very soon!

Can I use Skype, Google voice or the like to make calls?

NOT recommended but if you choose to do so, make sure you have a high bandwidth internet connection.  Haven’t found anyone who was able to get GoogleVoice working.  Here is a short walk-through to get you started phone banking with Skype:

What do the Voicemails say? There are different voicemails for different campaigns. Usually it is a well known local voicing support for Paul. Other times it is Paul asking for support…

What does the recipient see on their caller ID when I call? The people we are calling see a local number from the respective state
